Crown Tower

The Crown Tower, built in the 13th century, is the oldest still standing structure of Bratislava Castle. It was incorporated in the castle palace as its south-west corner in the 15th century. The Hungarian crown jewels were stored here in the past – hence its name.  A replica of Saint Stephen’s crown is kept here today. The tower is 47 meters tall and offers views of three countries: Slovakia, Austria and Hungary. If we add the height of the castle hill (85 m) to the tower, we will find ourselves at a noteworthy height above the city and river with an excellent view of the strategic space of Bratislava Gate.
